The top composite: Is that a cloud I see at the top center? Perhaps just a light spot.

Also, in the same image, there's a "UFO" hanging just above the horizon. Could be a spot of dirt on the lens, missing pixel or two, etc.


Yes, it's just a missing pixel. That pixel has been missing since the start of the mission, I think the "cloud" is the result of a lens hood shadow.

there's so much going on in the chamcam images in your gigapan - I won't hammer the snapshots on Gigapan - but I easily could lol

Here's the biggest image stitch wise I have tried... and failed to do a decent job on... My PC met it's match and even blue screened me twice while trying to stitch... :blush: :sick:

However it's taken an inordinate amount of time to get to the point I was at - I thought I'd post it up anyway - You can mock the stitching I dont mind! lol

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
