I remember slide rules. I had three in high school. These were straight, though a couple of students had circular ones. Calculators came to my school when I was in the 12th grade. They came in a case with a little loop on the top and everybody that had one wore it on their belt. While we were allowed to use slide rules on tests, nobody was allowed to use a calculator.

Nowadays many college level engineering courses require the purchase of, and proficiency with, a calculator just to attend. Go just about anywhere today and 1/4 to 1/3 of everyone there will be surfing the internet on their cell-phones (Actually cell-computers.) Times have changed and people can no longer think without consulting a machine.

Another piece of abstract ornate hardware that I snapshot on Glitch's pan that is getting a lot of 'likes' in the FB Mars anomalies groups:

Here is an updated enhancement, I have applied a little more noise reduction to this enlargement and I did a deconvolution stretch for the focus.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
