Back to SOL 439 - manufactured structures? was created by Joe Hartung
Good morning,

there´s an image from SOL 439 that - like many other images - contains interestring structures which don´t look like "just a rock", but manufactured. Here´s the link to the original NASA - image on jpl. :

mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/multimedia/raw/?rawid=0439MR0017890150302613E01_DXXX&s=439

For having a closer look, I went to NASA´s Planetary Data System and downloaded the PDS-File.

an.rsl.wustl.edu/msl/mslbrowser/br2.aspx?m=p

In the attachements you can see
- the jpg-image from jpl - unedited
- the png-image from PDS - unedited
- the png-image from PDS with marks and remarks.

I see what I see, so what do you guys see ?

Kind regards from Germany

Joe

To me, this looks like either repeated layers of sediment or pieces of layered building material lying more or less flat. The nearly right angles in several places among the layering draws my opinion toward the latter. A few scattered cuboids lying around in view re-enforces my opinion that we are looking at manufactured objects.

Well, that’s what I see. Anyone else?

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
