Curiosity Rover Sol 1106 Composite: Deteriorated Martian Technology? was created by Todd

This is a Curiosity Rover two frame composite made from Sol 1106 right mastcam images. Some of the protruding objects directly in front of the rover seem like good candidates for ruined Martian technology or perhaps some kind of dilapidated decorative artifacts. Most prominent is the grey object at center, which appears to have something of a cylindrical skeleton beneath the outer layer, which is partially visible on the left side. I'm not sure I've seen anything quite like this. :blink:

The image below was processed from the PDS raw DRCX .img files.

I don't really believe in any one "smoking gun" Rover image, just because of the remote nature of the image collection, but this one comes pretty close. I think a lot of artifacts are made of stone or reside within the stone record but not this one. Here are two composites showing the unusual Martian ground debris, including the relevant object, from Mastcam images taken on sol 1106. The images were processed from the PDS raw DRCX .img files and uploaded to GigaPan.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.
