Another thing not talked about too frequently is some of the really dark features imaged back by the MGS, I'll have to search for an example because it's been about 10 yrs. since I've seen them, but they really look like an up-welling of decayed organic material similar to tar or oil. That would also explain some of the unusual methane readings they occasionally find.

Slightly off topic, but here is one example of what I'm referring to. This is a Mars Global Surveyor image taken by the MOC of Argyre Planitia, within the Argyre basin, the lowest elevation on Mars.

Notice the dark material appears to sit within the lowest elevation present on the image. Of course it's just an outside possibility, but I think that we could be seeing some kind of bituminous sands deposit.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.
