Not sure if this has already been looked at here. The following image has already gone viral and will probably show up as one of the first images you will see if you Google 'Mars anomalies'. Previously I've only seen low res images but I just came across the JP2 version. www.uahirise.org/PSP_009760_2650 which at magnification 1 (and at the same perspective as it is usually presented) - looks to be an artificial structure.

However, experience at looking at orbiter images has taught me there is a need to be very careful judging perspective. And if you spend time on the image it becomes apparent that the structure is a lot less three dimensional than first seems. The dark areas that provide the shadow that give a sense of depth are actually flat and solid ...just darker. I've enlarged a little and turned the image to try and disrupt the optical illusion. This may or may not have the desired affect.

The regular ridge and right angles are still interesting but there are a lot of similar ridges in the full image that look natural. In conclusion I fall on the side of natural features, inherent problems with perspective that go with satellite images, and optical illusions. But make your own minds up.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
