Curiosity Sol 404 Weirdness was created by Todd
This image was taken by Curiosity Rover's left mastcam on Sol 404. The image below was processed from the pds raw .img file.



The objects visible in the immediate foreground appear to have some kind of technology, including a hollow pipe, protruding out of the right side. I also notice some "ghostly" images just above and behind the objects, I'm not sure what's going on there. :unsure:

as usual you have a sharp eye for finding anomalies. I see two tubular arms that seem to be holding a fixture of some kind. the streamline shape makes me believe that this could be an underwater ROV similar to the ones we use today. maybe they covered up a tether cable with the fake sand. if this was an ocean or lake then this object makes sense.

I think this is why we sent the mission to Gale. They knew there were structures up on the mountainside of Mt Sharp and naturally during a war or cataclysm things are going to get torn apart and tossed down hill into what was must likely a standing lake or ocean who knows. There was a lot of water here you can see it in the geology of many stones and strata crushed into fine layers over the years. Buried among the silt could be anything from Ancient Egyptian type stone structures to Jetson's like flying cars. Who knows the sky is the limit if there was a civilization there on Mars. I imagine if it reached into the later part of society that there were many bases of operation throughout the solar system and that is why we see these ruins all over the place.

So far the swirled up mess has provided us with some of the most amazingly similar to our own ancient artifacts here on Earth. Uncle Jakes Junkyard up on Mars sure has giving with her secrets! Who knows what lies just below the surface. Living or Relic.

That appears to be resting on some kind of rectangular slab, maybe concrete
