I guess eerie is one way of putting it. I'm stunned at the general public's lack of curiosity in 67p, but I guess I could say that for all the missions. :P

Hi,
I went out and looked at some of the pictures from ESA, this one:http://www.esa.int/var/esa/storage/images/esa_multimedia/images/2015/03/comet_on_21_october_2014_navcam/15334024-1-eng-GB/Comet_on_21_October_2014_NavCam.jpg is kind of interesting. In the middle of the photo, about one-third of the way down is a skinny, but tall looking rock. There are a lot of these rocks in the area. Wonder what could have caused them.
Thanks

Jim, it's such a stunning image, it's almost incomprehensible. I wouldn't think any of that stuff belongs on the surface of a comet. I see what your referring to, casting the long 6 o'clock shadow? Some of those cracks or groves at the bottom turn into ridges.

Thanks for the response, Todd. I wasn't very clear in my reference to the rocks. Sorry. I was looking at the skinny white rocks, sort of pillar-like. You're right-the entire picture has some strange features. NASA must have had some logic in choosing this comet to explore.
