Originally discovered and presented in 2014 by the redoubtable Martine Grainey, this is the first 3D rendering of this image to our knowledge.  Our master view shows a “head on a shelf” upper right of center.

Zooming in reveals startling detail.  The head shows bi-lateral symmetry, which indicates that it is almost certainly NOT of natural origin.  The proud, glaring warrior’s face shows deep-set eyes, a heavy brow ridge, a flared and possibly tattooed nose, beard, hair and a headdress.

Goingto hyper-zoom, we can even faintly-see the lips and mouth in the shadow.  The carving of the beard and hair is identical to Sumerian and Etruscan representations of facial hair in their statues.  Oh the stories this bust could tell!  Kudos to Martine Grainey for her remarkable discovery!
