Good morning from Germany,

on SOL 1934 in the following image ...

mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/multimedia/raw/?rawid=1934MH0001220010703648C00_DXXX&s=1934

you can see an interesting object. For being "just a stone" it has an uncommon shape. The back part is going up and casts a shadow. Just a stone or something else, a fossil e.g.? What do you see.

Sincerly

Joe

Certainly an odd shape.
What I thought interesting was that it appears the dust and fine debris seems to have been brushed or blown away under and around it showing a lighter colour.

The dust around it is the same color as the object itself. Maybe that's where it came from. If you go to the original image in the link, and enlarge it, the brown pebbles that are all over the ground are also in the scooped out area on the object itself. So they must have been deposited more recently than the object itself was formed.

Whatever it is, it seems to be standing almost straight up, based on the shadow. Certainly strange looking.

Great Stuff - Interesting Object - Even more odd is the fact that object is no longer there approx 30 mins later?

Strange. Where'd it go? The brown pebbles seem to be gone too.

I have to admit that it has vanished into thin air. can the rover pick up objects? one of the strangest anomalies I have ever seen!! good work everyone. (is it possible that a strong wind moved it?)

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
