These are exciting times B) I can only imagine what humanity will discover in my lifetime! to think 120 years back (4 generations or so) we used steam / coal / peat for energy... a blink in cosmological time - and we split the atom, and discover the building blocks of the universe with Quarks and the Higgs Boson etc... Exponential is the word that springs to mind!!

I'm like a kid in a sweet shop.... I just wish I was more mathematically intelligent... this is my stumbling block lol

This mission just launched some 20 minutes ago from Vandenburg, right on time. All is going well so far.

Quasar (or anybody else) ... any idea why NASA would launch a planetary mission from Vandenburg, which resilts in basically a polar orbit (unless you do some performance-degrading maneuvering)? All I can figure is they want to use the west coast facilities and exercise the ground ops capabilities.

It's obvious why DoD uses Vandenburg for many launches, but not a Mars mission.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
