QUESTION: My favorite part, no pun intended, in this appears @3:03 - 3:09. Can anyone locate this in another one of the images, please?

Todd, CitizenQuasar, THANK YOU BOTH!
I've been looking for this particular SOL since the time my PC crashed and I lost all of my work. There are many unusual items in SOL 528 as well as the related SOL 527.

SOL 528 indicated by Todd does indeed contain the unusual sand image, while at the same time the image referenced in the video CitizenQuasar posted I believe is part of a mosaic of images from SOL 527. You can find the specific image here www.midnightplanets.com/web/MSL/image/00527/0527ML0020790040203195E01_DXXX.html

I've attached the MCR mosaic found at the Washington University St Louis website
an.rsl.wustl.edu/msl/mslbrowser/an3.aspx

Again, thank you Todd and CitizenQuasar for the post!

It may be the image they referenced, but not the one they use, pretty sure it's from 528. The sol 527 image is further away.

Below, a composite from sol 528 I processed from the PDS raw DRCX .img files.

Here's the timeline of the images, there's three of them. The first is taken from site 25/1638 by the right Mastcam on sol 527. The color never came down on the raw browse jpg, so few people have seen it in color. I'm going to do 527 in Gigapan soon, that will include the color.

The second is a left Mastcam image from site 26/0000 also from sol 527.

The third is the sol 528 left Mastcam image from site 26/0168.

I hope I'm not getting too far off-topic...

I find it interesting that some sources of the images have different products. For example, Midnight Planets have images in B/W with many/most 75% quality (per FotoForensics), the Washington University St Louis source has those same images but colorized plus at 100% quality. Further, some from the PDS site at pds-imaging.jpl.gov, especially those from Opportunity, have blacked-out images of the same SOLS as the other sites and for the most part 75% quality. curiosityrover.com presents both the B/W and color images but at 70% quality. I'd be more than happy to post examples but maybe in another thread.

I wonder sometimes about the lack of consistency. But no doubt they are all using different processing techniques.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by the YouTube channel and to all of our admins and forum users here on the channel.   They really have kept the website current while I have been busy taking care of things in my personal life.   I promised that the next video would be a long one and have a LOT to look at.  You can get lost in these Gigapans and I really hope that you do!  I spent a lot of time stitching these together and making sure that they were the best quality that I could get them.  SOL 1448 really has been a goldmine for anomaly hunters and those people who are just hobbiest.  I really hope you enjoy this one and expect much more to come from the latest batches of images!
